For the second year in a row, the "Health Day" sports event has brought together the employees of "Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine" CJSC, as well as residents from Kajaran, Kapan, and other affected communities, proving once again that sport is one of the best ways to unite people.
On July 4–5, 13 ZCMC teams competed in the villages of Pukhrut and Lernadzor, as well as at the Kajaran stadium and sports school. These included teams from ZCMC's administrative divisions and workshops, the Technical Directorate, as well as a joint team from the Administrative Department (including Vehicle Fleet No. 2), the Financial Directorate, the Sustainable Development Directorate, the Logistics Directorate, the Digitalization Directorate, and the Legal Department. The Kajaran community team also participated in the tournament.This year, the number of participants in the two-day tournament almost doubled compared to 2025, reaching 420.
Like last year, this year's tournament featured over a dozen sports, games, and competitions: volleyball, mini-football, darts, arm wrestling, powerlifting, tug-of-war, as well as culinary and singing competitions, among others. The competition was intense and full of unforgettable moments. In the team standings, based on the total points scored across all sports and competitions, the “Zangezur” team from the Security Department took 1st place, the joint “Invincible Bears” team took 2nd place, and the “Khustup” team from the tailings dam division took 3rd place.
In the match between the ZCMC team and the Kajaran community team, the Kajaran team won the honorable first place.
The award ceremony for the tournament was held at the Kajaran Palace of Culture. The winning teams were honored with trophies, medals, souvenirs, and cash prizes. This year, special personal prizes from the Director General of ZCMC CJSC were also introduced and awarded to the most active participants.
"Health Day" is primarily aimed at developing mass amateur sports among ZCMC employees, improving their quality of life, maintaining good health, and strengthening team spirit. The main goal of the tournament is to increase the employees' interest in a healthy lifestyle by popularizing active recreation, physical culture, and regular sports training.
