For the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine, the sustainable development of the affected communities and the improvement of the quality of life of the residents are of primary importance. For the Company, social responsibility is not just about program implementation, but about daily care for Syunik and its residents.
Since 2024, a large-scale energy project has been launched to provide affected settlements with environmentally friendly and energy-saving technologies. The project is fully financed by the ZCMC, that allocated more than AMD 227 million.
As a result, 273 solar photovoltaic stations and 227 solar water heaters have already been installed in the settlements of Syunik, Sznak, Ditsmayri, Khordzor and Bargushat, and solar water heaters have been installed on the roofs of 51 multi-child families in the settlements of Artsvanik, Sevakar, Chapni, Achanan and Erkenants. This project significantly reduces residents' utility costs, simplifies everyday life, and relieves them of as many burdens as possible. The environmental significance of the project deserves special emphasis: residents have stopped burning wood, using clean, safe, and sustainable energy sources.
