ZCMC CJSC is launching large-scale social programs: next year, it is planned to restore the once-famous children's and youth camp Gandzasar.

Asya Ghazaryan, Deputy Director for Sustainable Development at ZCMC, notes that approximately $5.5 million will be invested in the project, which will provide children aged 7 to 15 from across the Republic with the opportunity to attend the camp. The new complex will serve 120 children (4 groups).

The project is currently undergoing public consultations and is generating considerable interest. Preparatory work has already begun on the Gandzasar site. Dormitories, dining halls, recreation areas, sports grounds, and other amenities will be built. The camp will feature several swimming pools for children of various ages. A multi-purpose football field is also being designed.

The camp will serve not only as for children’s recreation, but also as a venue for classes, various seminars, and aesthetic education.

During the Soviet era, the children's and youth camp was renowned for its fresh air and beautiful nature, a wonderful and picturesque setting. All that remains of the old camp building is a dilapidated cafeteria, which could potentially be restored.

This project is unprecedented not only in terms of its scale and large investment, but also, its emotional impact, thanks to the thoughtful approach taken to rekindling warm memories of the recent past. After all, Gandzasar has left unforgettable memories for hundreds of children and teenagers, becoming a unique center for aesthetic and sports education, which they remember with nostalgia and warmth and eagerly await its reopening in a modern guise and with updated facilities.
