Tree Planting in Artsvanik

With the help of employees fr om the Environmental Department of the ZCMC, schoolchildren and teachers from affected village of Artsvanik carried out a tree-planting activity.

Prior to the tree planting, the young residents of Artsvanik visited the enterprise, wh ere they had the opportunity to learn about the plant’s production process and receive answers to their questions during a meeting with Taron Navasardyan, Deputy Director for Sustainable Development of “ZCMC” CJSC.

Congratulations on Geologists’ Professional Holiday

Every year, the first Sunday of April is celebrated as the professional holiday of geologists, symbolizing the beginning of the active fieldwork season. ZCMC consistently strives to increase interest in geology by organizing various events, especially on the occasion of the professional day. This year, the plant’s experienced geologists met with students from schools in Kapan, Kajaran, and nearby rural communities, presenting the full charm and importance of geology.

Sustainable Development Report - 2023

Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine has presented its regular, annual sustainable development report, which summarizes the Company's activities in the previous year, 2023, includes some data from the current year, and information on targets and tasks for the coming years.

TAILINGS FACILITY

The tailings of the enrichment plant are transported to the tailings dam at Artsvanik, located about 32 km from the plant, through a series of underground and overland pipelines and water ducts.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

ZCMC CJSC has been involved in community development for decades, believing that a strong and self-sufficient community is a reliable and long-term partner for any operation.

According to established tradition, the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine annually celebrates the professional holiday, the Day of the Miner and Metallurgist.

EMPLOYEES

"ZСMС" CJSC has more than 4600 employees, 22 percent of whom are women. The number of workers from local communities exceeds 80 percent.

BACKGROUND

More than 7 decades ago, in late 1940s, persistent and hard work resulted in the the construction of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC). The project has a rich history and plays an important role in the development of this region and the country.

Kajaran

Kajaran is located in the south of Armenia, in Syunik Province. The city is situated 356 km from Yerevan and 25 km from the provincial capital Kapan. It is only 50 km away from the Armenia-Iran border.
Kajaran is located on the banks of the Voghji River, between the Zangezur Mountains and the Meghri mountain range. The highest peak in the region is Mt. Kaputjugh, 3905 m, located west of Kajaran.

Kapan

Kapan is the provincial capital of Syunik. Since November 2017, by consolidating the rural communities in the region, Kapan has become an enlarged community. Kapan is a community affected by the company: the ZCMC's tailings dam at Artsvanik is located in the territory of Kapan community.
