Where we are

ZCMC is located in the Vokhchi valley in the southeast corner of Armenia, close to the borders with Iran and the Azerbaijan-Nakhichivan exclave. Kajaran is situated 345 km from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia and approximately 25 km from Kapan, the administrative center of Syunik province. Syunik is the second largest province in Armenia, it occupies 4506km2, 15% of the territory of Armenia, and has a population of about 152.9 thousands (2009 Armenian Yearbook, Armenian Statistics Service data).


The topography of the Kajaran area is one of high relief with mountains up to nearly 4,000m elevation in close proximity to the mine. The actual open pit operates at an elevation of between 1,830 to 2,360m, whilst the processing plant in Kajaran is located at approximately 1,750m above sea level.
